PROJECT MANAGER CIVIL

The role will be to manage all Civils on subdivisions and infills. This will entail dealing with various service providers (Engineers, Geotech, Survey, Environmental) as well as (Electrical, Gas and Fiber) to ensure that all provisions for the project are coordinated and scheduled accordingly. You will be required to work with Planners for certain aspects of new projects.

You will report to the Head of Civils and your work shall also encompass ensuring Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality is maintained.

You will be required to understand the RITS Technical Specifications (Similar to metro spec) and the various erosion and sediment controls.

You will also be required to work with various contractors from project startup to construction.

Although these will form your main duties, you will be required to perform tasks at certain times that are not within your direct scope, and this will be based on the circumstances.

Daily Duties:
  • Site Management of Civil Contractors (Earthworks, Roading, Fencing, Retaining Walls, Demolitions)
  • Management + Co-Ordination of Services (Electricity, Gas, Fiber)
  • Civil Project Management of 3 Waters Drainage (Stormwater, Wastewater and Watermains) between drainage contractors and HCC.
  • Ensuring all Land Use Conditions are in compliance for the various projects.
  • Management of ESCP – Erosion and Sediment Control Plans and ensuring compliance.
  • Booking Inspections for Survey, GeoTech, Council as the work progresses.
  • Applications for Electrical, Gas and Fiber Connections and Tracking of these applications.
  • Ensuring that all subdivisions have all services and drainage installed prior to handing over to the construction team.
  • Scheduling of Concrete Floors on subdivisions. This is done by subcontractors but will need to be coordinated with the internal scheduling team.
  • Assistance with Traffic Management Plans, Pre-Start Surveys, Setting up of works.
  • Liaising with Surveyors for booking in topo surveys and as-builts as well as big box set out for floors.
  • Ensuring that all contractors come onto site at the correct stage in the project.
  • Attendance of weekly site meetings with various internal departments (Design, Consenting and Construction).
  • Working closely with the Head of Civils to ensure that all works are planned accordingly.
  • Reporting on the various projects for progress, Quality, Works Clearance documents, and various other paperwork that is required for titling of the subdivisions.
  • Assistance with Planning tasks for Land Use and Subdivision Consents.
  • Ensuring that the site meets the Health and Safety standards and that Environmental Management is maintained.
  • Monitoring of All Erosion and Sediment Controls and attending inspections, etc with Waikato Regional Council.
  • Providing Support to the Head Of Civils on all Projects.
  • Working with companies internal systems for scheduling and planning as well as proficiency in word, excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Requesting Quotes for the various civil trades and getting approvals.
  • Providing Support to the other departments on site with civil works.
  • Working with the internal departments to ensure that all works are completed within their schedules and deadlines.
  • Ensuring that all work is filed in the relevant places on the server and that all relevant people are informed.

Ideally suited for 3-5 years project management experience in civil infrastructure works + subdivisions.

A Qualification in Construction Management / Project Management would be preferred.

Experience in Civil Subdivisions.

Full Class 1 Driver's License.
