As an Expert Electrician, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day electrical services, examining plans and specifications, measuring and laying out installation reference points, connecting wires and cables to terminals and connectors, and using test instruments to trace and diagnose faults.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical services for industrial, commercial, and domestic purposes
  • Examine plans, wiring diagrams, and specifications
  • Measure and lay out installation reference points
  • Connect wire and cable to terminals and connectors
  • Use test instruments to trace and diagnose faults
  • Repair or replace faulty wiring and defective parts
  • Install electrical switchboards
  • Conduct testing to AS/NZS 3000 standards
  • Manage equipment upkeep and condition
  • Direct staff when required
  • Timely completion of paperwork, including timesheets, job sheets, and health and safety documentation

Requirements

  • NZ Electrical Registration
  • NZ Practicing License
  • Site Safe Certification
  • Safe Working Practices Certification
  • First Aid Certification
  • Driver's License for a class 1 light motor vehicle
  • Excellent understanding of electrical regulations and ASNZS 3000 codes
  • Knowledge of the construction environment
  • Enthusiasm and pro-activeness
  • Flexibility with working hours
