About the Role

The Healthy Active Learning initiative, a collaborative effort between Sport New Zealand, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Health, is seeking a passionate professional to join their Te Tai Tokerau team.

As an Education Program Facilitator, you will develop positive relationships with schools, influencing strategic thinking within the education system. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and facilitating professional learning opportunities for educators
  • Fostering strategic change within schools through collaborative efforts
  • Demonstrating knowledge and understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and/or Te Marautanga o Aotearoa

A strong candidate will possess extensive experience in designing and delivering health and physical education curricula, as well as practical delivery experience in schools. Additionally, they will have a solid understanding of how the sport and education sectors interact to deliver high-quality PE, sport, active recreation, and play opportunities for students.

Key Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent facilitation and training abilities
  • Detailed knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and/or Te Marautanga o Aotearoa
  • Prior experience working in education settings, particularly with primary and intermediate schools
