We are seeking a skilled Team Lead/Senior Payroll Officer to combine hands-on payroll expertise with leadership responsibilities. This role offers complexity and variety, including processing multiple pay runs, collective agreements, and stakeholder relationships.Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively alongside the payroll team to process end-to-end fortnightly payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legislation and employment agreements.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing payroll team while fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure systems meet legislative requirements, conduct audits, and provide accurate financial reporting.
  • Build strong relationships across Parliament to deliver customer-centric payroll services.
What You'll Bring
  • Proven experience with complex payroll functions, delivering accurate, timely services, and driving productivity.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll-related legislation (e.g., Holidays Act, Employment Relations Act) and its practical application, including interpreting contracts and managing HR systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality customer service, effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders, and meet deadlines.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience building engaged collaborative teams and coaching for development and operational excellence.
  • Expertise in quality assurance, audit processes, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives within payroll functions.
