About the Opportunity
We are looking for a highly skilled Group Manager to lead our Infrastructure Services team and guide Council through a period of significant change. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic, community-minded leader to make a real difference in the lives of our people and communities.
About the Role
The Group Manager will be responsible for leading a diverse portfolio of essential services, including roads, water services, parks, and facilities. You will foster a thriving environment by modelling a collaborative leadership style that encourages teamwork across Western Bay.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Infrastructure Services team to deliver high-quality services that meet the needs of our growing communities.
- Develop and implement strategic plans that align with Council's goals and objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including iwi, hapū, government, and sector leaders.
- Provide expert advice to the Chief Executive and elected members on infrastructure strategy, risk, and investment.
- Drive Council's transition through major reform, ensuring services remain community-driven, and future-fit.
You Will Thrive in This Role If
- You have 10+ years of experience in infrastructure or senior leadership in a complex setting.
- You have deep knowledge of asset management, capital projects, and sector legislation.
- You possess a leadership style that empowers people, builds trust, and delivers outcomes.
- You have strong relationship management and engagement skills — especially in complex or multi-stakeholder environments.
- You have a clear understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its place in local government.
- You can think strategically and act decisively — turning vision into action.
