Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Infrastructure Group to deliver essential services that meet the needs of our growing communities.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans that align with Council's goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including iwi, hapū, government, and sector leaders.
  • Provide expert advice to the Chief Executive and elected members on infrastructure strategy, risk, and investment.
  • Drive Council's transition through major reform, ensuring services remain community-driven, and future-fit.

You Will Thrive in This Role If

  • You have 10+ years of experience in infrastructure or senior leadership in a complex setting.
  • You have deep knowledge of asset management, capital projects, and sector legislation.
  • You possess a leadership style that empowers people, builds trust, and delivers outcomes.
  • You have strong relationship management and engagement skills — especially in complex or multi-stakeholder environments.
  • You have a clear understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its place in local government.
  • You can think strategically and act decisively — turning vision into action.
