We are seeking an experienced Strategic Planner to lead our Resource Management Planning Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding a team of 8 planners with mixed levels of experience, utilizing their knowledge of the Resource Management Act planning process to facilitate growth and development within the team.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the Plan change process from start to finish, preferably with experience in the council space. They will be able to provide RMA expertise and process applications, ensuring legislative requirements and council policies and procedures are fulfilled.

A key aspect of this role is developing relationships with key stakeholders, driving continuous growth and development within the team, and providing support and guidance to other planners within the policy team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of 8 planners with mixed levels of experience
  • Providing RMA expertise and process applications
  • Ensuring legislative requirements and council policies and procedures are fulfilled
  • Developing relationships with key stakeholders

About You:

  • Solid understanding of the Plan change process from start to finish
  • Experience in the council space preferred
  • Great leadership skills
  • Ability to nurture and grow the abilities of your team
