Job Description
We are seeking a Chief Research Liaison Officer to join our team at A*STAR. The successful candidate will engage with companies and agencies to understand their businesses, product/service offerings, and technology needs. They will foster R&D collaboration between companies/agencies and researchers/research units in A*STAR SRTT, driving impactful outcomes. The role requires working closely with industries and agencies to market the portfolio and research capabilities through collaboration and facilitate technology transfer as needed.
The Chief Research Liaison Officer will work closely with scientists and principal investigators to determine the scope of projects, estimate costs, draft agreements, and negotiate with industries and agencies. They will provide management reporting support, market intelligence, and facts gathering to facilitate decision-making and occasionally convince others to adopt new concepts and approaches.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Physical Sciences or equivalent and 5 years of industry/agency experience, with 3-5 years in a business development and/or technical strategic planning and execution role. Experience in project management in an R&D, Technology, and/or Operations environment, interfacing with private and public sector agencies would be an added advantage.
The Chief Research Liaison Officer will take ownership and responsibility for the team's actions and decisions. They must be pro-active, quality conscious, and results-oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Master's degree in Physical Sciences or equivalent
- 5 years of industry/agency experience, with 3-5 years in business development and/or technical strategic planning and execution role
- Experience in project management in R&D, Technology, and/or Operations environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
