The Role
We're currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Otago Corrections Facility. This role involves undertaking general maintenance and repairs of the facilities, as well as dealing with unexpected events and providing direction to work for and within teams.
Your Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for:
- Undertaking scheduled maintenance, first response, and reactive activities to ensure facilities meet our client's needs
- Working safely and meeting our client's expectations
- Providing solutions to problems and opportunities for continuous improvement
- Collaborating with the team to achieve our goals
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Previous experience in property, facilities and/or asset management roles
- Technical skills: working knowledge of carpentry techniques, methods, tools and safety precautions
- Literacy and technical literacy to operate handheld electronic recording devices
- Able to work unsupervised while providing safe and quality work
- A full class one Driver's license and ability to drive a manual
- Physical fitness and agility to carry out regular bending and lifting tasks
- Good verbal and written communication skills
