Disability Support Specialist

In this role, you will be part of a skilled team that provides a safe and supportive environment for people to develop new skills, build relationships, and engage with their community. As a disability support specialist, you will contribute to our mission of promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities for all.
About Your RoleYou will play a vital role in assisting young people and children who access our services to live independently in their community. This involves working on various shifts and rosters, including responsibilities such as personal care, community outings, integration, and daily living tasks – enabling our clients to be as independent as possible.

In this role, empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are essential qualities, as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests. Having experience working with individuals with disabilities is beneficial but not necessary.
Key Responsibilities- Support young people and children to learn new skills and achieve desired outcomes.
- Provide assistance with daily living tasks, including personal care and community outings.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure seamless support and care.
- Maintain flexibility to work various shifts, including overnight and weekend shifts.
