Our community spirit is no different from Waipa District Council's working environment.
We work hard to ensure that we have the best people working with us and pride ourselves on our friendly and supportive work environment.
Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a customer-focused planning professional to join our team as a Duty Planner to provide operational planning advice to our customers in both Cambridge and Te Awamutu.
In this busy and demanding role, you will be required to liaise with customers face to face, over the phone, and via email on a variety of planning and district plan enquiries.
You will also review building consents to ensure compliance with the District Plan and resource consents issues.
To be successful in this role, you will be confident in providing sound, accurate planning advice and have a good operational knowledge of the Waipa district plan.
Ideally, you will have a recognised tertiary qualification, preferably in resource management.
A 'can do' attitude and a strong customer philosophy are a must, along with excellent organisational skills, effective time management, and attention to detail.
So, what's in it for you?
In addition to making a positive difference in shaping our district, we offer generous leave entitlements, hybrid work from home flexibility, life insurance cover, and a genuine care for staff wellbeing.
We provide subscriptions to all staff of the 'My every day wellbeing' health and wellbeing resource, as well as a 24/7 employee assistance programme and subsidised health and fitness memberships.
We also offer learning and development opportunities and professional subscriptions.
Your primary location for this role will be Cambridge with some days in Te Awamutu; however, our new working flexibly policy provides options for work remotely to enable a working balance between our Council offices and home.
