Job Description - Gastroenterology Clinical Nurse Specialist (WAI28644) Gastroenterology Clinical Nurse Specialist:WAI28644Work Location: Waikato Hospital, HamiltonHours: 0.9 FTEEmployment Type: Permanent About the RoleThe Internal Medicine Department at Waikato Hospital is looking for an experienced, highly motivated Nurse to join our team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Liver Cancer/Cirrhosis CNS.The successful candidate will join our existing experienced CNS to provide and co-ordinate care across Gastroenterology inpatient and outpatient services.
You will facilitate individual case management, education, review of interventions and liaison with the multi-disciplinary team.This position has existed for over 15 years and has evolved over time to become critical for the management of liver cancer and cirrhosis.
This role is absolutely vital for the care of this high-risk patient group, many of whom have liver cancer or are from areas of deprivation.

About youRequired skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role: At least 5 years' experience as a Registered Nurse A current New Zealand APC Completed a Professional Development and Recognition Programme – at Proficient and/or above In the process of studying towards, or completed a post graduate qualification Adaptability, flexibility and detail orientated Ability to work independently Previous Gastroenterology experience will be an advantage, but is not essential Familiarity with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth If you are looking for a challenging new role and believe this opportunity is for you, we welcome your application.
