Manawatu Horowhenua Tararua Diabetes Trust – Manawatu CountyWe are seeking an energetic Youth Coordinator (.25FTE) to join our teamThere is some flexibility in the hours worked (up to 10 hours per week), and will include some Friday nights, Sundays, and possibly one weekend per year for our Youth/Family camp.This role has a focus on supporting youth and their families/whanau with diabetes. It has some great variety and scope ranging from meeting with newly diagnosed whanau/rangatahi, running support group meetings (including online), assisting with Health & Safety processes, social media, and our youth newsletter/written reports.Relevant Experience:Working with youth and families such as sports coaching, teaching, church workPlanning, delivering, and evaluating programmes and events for young peopleWorking in community or social services, with people from a variety of culturesExperience with supporting people with health, disability, and illness issuesQualifications and Skills:NZ driver's licenceCurrent First Aid certificate or willingness to obtainHigh level of interpersonal skillsExcellent written and oral communicationKnowledge of social media, FB, InstagramDemonstrated excellent organisational and time management skillsPersonal Attributes:Effective team memberAbility to work in a complex and changing health environmentHonest, reliable, and trustworthyCompassionate and non-judgementalConfident and professionalAbility to self-evaluate and reflect on serviceAbility to problem solve, think outside the box, and bring innovation in the delivery of MHTDT youth eventsThis is a great opportunity to work with a professional team that has a passion for providing high-quality service.
