that has been a leader in their space for some time is on the lookout for their next Python expert.This is a role that won't just be about bringing your technology skills to the table, but bringing your whole self to work.
When a company needs to send you a full-page document to describe their benefits package, you know it's an organization that cares for their people.About the roleWe are seeking a Senior Python Developer.
This person will not only be well-versed in their favorite Pycharm addons but also be able to communicate with the team to find the best solution to the problem.
Communication is key as your team isn't huge in numbers, but still delivers a quality product loved by thousands of everyday kiwis.There is a bit of diversity in your day-to-day work too.
Getting stuck into a slow-performing SQL query, creating infrastructure using Terraform, or even just reading about that new AWS PAAS service that will save the organization thousands a month.
You'll be someone who is keen to branch out and improve the product, even in areas that aren't exactly in your wheelhouse.What you will bringYou'll be someone who has been there and done that with Python.
Hopefully on a SAAS product, but if your background is more in the data science realm, that's OK too as long as you are willing to give all things web a goYou'll hopefully be someone that past colleagues will say, "That person was super helpful anytime I asked them for something".
Being a team player, being a leader no matter your role title on paper, and overall being a cheerful person to be around is important for this role.You will need all/most/able-to-fake-it of:Experience building web applications utilizing PythonExperience creating and managing infrastructure in AWS utilizing Terraform (Or another cloud/IaC, it's all transferable
)Solid understanding of database fundamentals (You can write a query without an ORM for example).
Postgres is ideal, but other SQL products are good too.The basics of modern web development/design.
e.x.
You only need to lookup that flexbox cheatsheet once a day instead of every hour.And some/none-but-willing-to-learn of:Experience with C# could be helpful, but it's not a deal breaker.Experience in Javascript/Typescript/React would be helpful, even just to fix that annoying UI bug that's been lingering for some time.Any experience in the financial and or investing sector would be advantageous.Additional informationThis role is available for both Auckland and Wellington.
The role is not fully remote, but is very much onboard with flexible working arrangements.
