About this position The successful applicant will: Provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and management of haematological conditions for patients in the Nelson Marlborough Region. Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive patient care. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans and quality services to improve the health of the population in Nelson Marlborough. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research to advance haematological care. Contribute to the education and training of our growing junior medical workforce. The ideal applicant will: Have an FRACP with subspecialist training recognised by the Haematology Society or equivalent overseas qualification. Be eligible for an Annual Practising Certificate and vocational scope of Internal Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand. May be at the beginning of their career looking to a role that grows with them. Be looking to work independently as a consultant Haematologist in a provincial hospital. Demonstrate experience in diagnosing and managing a wide range of haematological conditions. Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary team to promote a cohesive team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across disciplines. Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development and quality improvement.
