The role will see you as an integral part of the consent team, delivering customer and solution-focused planning and resource consenting services that align with the strategic goals of the council. As the Principal Planner, you will also play an integral part in the support and mentorship of the team, as well as taking the lead when it comes to the more complex aspects of the role.Other Duties IncludeBuild strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholdersEnsure all legislative obligations are met under the district plan and RMA 1991Mentoring more junior members of the team and providing peer reviewsParticipate in hearings and environmental court when neededAbout YouYou would ideally have 7+ years of experience within the consent planning space and ideally at least 2 of those years at a senior level. You would be a team player who is willing to lead and mentor the consent team, as well as assist them on more difficult tasks and applications.Relevant tertiary educationKnowledge and understanding of legislation relating to resource management and local governmentEligibility for a full NZPI membershipShow leadership while maintaining your workloadDrive for positive change within the workplaceGood sense of humour and a positive approach to workBenefits and CultureOur clients are committed to creating a welcoming and diverse workplace that sees people thrive within.
