This role is critical for managing the integration of solar power projects into the electrical grid.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with specific experience in solar power systems and grid connection processes.
This position requires a professional who can ensure seamless integration, adherence to regulatory standards, and optimal performance of solar energy systems within the grid.Key Responsibilities:Responsible for overseeing and commissioning the integration of solar power systems into the electrical grid.Ensure compliance with New Zealand regulations for grid connection.Perform site assessments and analyze grid connection requirements for solar projects.Develop and review technical specifications for grid connection.Collaborate with project teams, developers, and grid operators to ensure successful project execution.Troubleshoot technical issues related to grid connection and solar system performance.Provide guidance on grid codes and standards to internal and external stakeholders.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.Minimum of 8 years of experience in utility-scale power plant grid connection and electrical engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) power plant grid connection.Proficiency in solar design software such as PVSyst, HOMER, HelioScope, etc.Familiarity with New Zealand grid requirements and standards.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and presentation abilities.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team and travel as needed.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeIndustriesServices for Renewable Energy, Electric Power Transmission, Control, and Distribution, and Renewable Energy Equipment Manufacturing
