The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.Minimum Requirements:Relevant Diploma qualification, Bachelor of Education or Teaching, Post-graduate Diploma in Early Intervention / Special Education / Educational PsychologyExperience working with children and young people with learning and behavioural needs in a classroom or other relevant settingExperience of supporting education and other professionals to meet the needs of children and young people with additional learning needsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with children, young people and their families and teachers across a diverse range of settingsThe ability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga.Integrate Te Ao Maori and use subject matter knowledge and experience to strengthen cultural solutions for the learner and whanau.Have a level of competence in Te Reo Maori me ona tikanga and be able to link this expertise to work alongside colleagues and specialists in a bi-cultural wayAbility to work effectively in Maori settings including the auraki education system and Maori education from kohanga reo, kura kaupapa, wharekura and whare wanangaLearning Support is a critical part of Te Mahau, Te Tai Whenua.
