Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy 1.0 FTEThe role is based in Gisborne Hospital and the community.The Occupational Therapy service runs from 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

We work in an inter-disciplinary environment promoting independence, health, and well-being for the people of our community.The ideal candidate will have a willingness to learn about wheelchair and seating assessments, pressure care intervention, cognitive assessments, and housing modification assessments.Successful applicants must be registered with the OT Board of New Zealand and hold a current practising certificate.
They must also hold a current, clean, and full driver's licence.
Overseas applicants can be considered providing they are eligible for OT Board registration.Desirable skills to bring would include:Self-sufficient, organised, good communicator, motivated, takes initiatives.Enjoys working with people of all ages and different professions.Has the ability to think on their feet, work at times in a quick-paced environment.Can effectively problem-solve and think laterally.Hardworking, inquisitive, open to all learning opportunities.Accountable and has good time management skills.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
