Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About The RoleThe areas of responsibility for this role are Allied Health Unit, Older Persons Health, and Inpatient and Community Rehabilitation based at Dunedin Hospital and Wakari Hospital.This role will lead and manage assigned services to provide efficient, effective, equitable, and safe patient care within the available resources across the Southern District of Health New Zealand.The Service Manager is responsible for service delivery processes, including management of financial performance, activity and production planning, health targets, human resource management, quality and risk management, certification and accreditation, clinical pathway development, and other service delivery improvements within the services.
Working in partnership with clinical and other staff, the Service Manager will contribute to strategic and operational management in a way that is consistent with the organization's vision and values.About the Team/Service/ LocationHealth NZ - Te Whatu Ora - Southern has the largest geographical coverage of all the New Zealand regions, providing services to 350,000 people in diverse communities.

A broad knowledge of health needs across our population will prove to be valuable.Our Ideal Candidate Will HaveA tertiary qualification within health or another relevant fieldProven experience in managing budgets and staffPrevious experience leading teams in a clinical environmentCompetency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthExperience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settingsWorking for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
