MIMICO sells, hires and services heavy machinery for the quarrying, mining, contracting, construction, recycling and forestry industries.Job DescriptionMIMICO is seeking a skilled Transmission/Component Rebuilder to join our Matamata team.
In this role, you will be responsible for disassembling, diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding complex mechanical components, including transmissions, gearboxes, torque converters and other related systems.
This position requires mechanical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work with precision to ensure the highest quality repairs and rebuilds.If you have experience in the automotive industry but no formal qualification, we're ready to provide training and support to help you upskill, and specialise in transmission and component rebuilding.Key Responsibilities include:Disassemble and inspect mechanical components for damage and wearRepair, clean, and replace worn parts using the right tools and techniquesRebuild transmissions and components to manufacturer standardsUse diagnostic tools to identify issues and assess performanceFollow technical manuals and schematics for accurate assemblyKeep the workspace clean, organised, and safeCommunicate with the team and provide repair reportsFollow safety standards and industry regulationsTest rebuilt components to ensure proper functionalityQualificationsTo be successful in this position, you will have:Knowledge of transmission systems, gearboxes, and related mechanical componentsAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, and schematics.Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipmentProblem-solving skills and mechanical aptitudeStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipBasic computer skills for reporting and diagnosticsPrior experience operating lathesAdditional InformationApply today to bring your skills to MIMICO and help us achieve excellence in every rebuild
