Manager Client Service Delivery - Newtown at Ministry of Social Development, Wellington - WairarapaFixed term/secondment opportunity through to February 2026Make a difference in the Wellington communityHelp achieve Government TargetsLead and influence a Client Service Delivery teamKey strategic and people leadership at a senior levelWe are seeking a Manager Client Service Delivery who can lead a Client Service Delivery team to join the Wellington Region (based in Newtown Service Centre).
This role is permanent reporting to the Regional Director.You will be responsible for leadership and operational excellence of the Work and Income Service Centre, through the development of a high-performance people centric team that delivers high quality services to clients.
Meeting current and future expectations and demand for services, contributing to MSD values, strategic priorities, and outcomes is essential to your ongoing success in this role.You will possess expert knowledge of how insights and learnings can better enable our client-facing people to give our clients the help and support that they need, when they need it.
In the service centre everyone has a role in employment.
Your leadership will encourage and support the team to be connected and focused on their part, to have great employment conversations with job seekers, and provide an environment where employment activity flourishes.A significant part of your role will be establishing credible and enduring relationships with key government, non-government stakeholders and community partners as well as internal Ministry staff.
This means our ideal candidate needs to be an effective communicator who has extensive experience in engaging with our various stakeholders and is comfortable operating at a senior level.
An understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural issues and concerns, in particular, knowledge of tikanga Maori, and Pacific peoples' culture is key.
You will play a key role to help promote a positive brand and reputation for MSD and the work it does in the Kapiti community.As part of the Wellington Region leadership team, you will bring a fresh perspective and innovative ideas to help deliver on the Ministry's strategic objectives, drive continuous improvement and contribute to the achievement of the Governments Targets.
You will have an understanding of the labour market, barriers jobseekers may face in finding and sustaining employment and an ability to grow capability in your people to achieve results.
Your initiative and personal resolve to deliver results will be a noticeable contribution in meeting our collective goals.Key requirements for the role include:Proven leadership at a senior level and the ability to influence others.Proven record of leading teams to achieve outcomes.The ability to work with ambiguity and to move quickly in a dynamic environment.Experienced in leadership and development of a high performing team.Strategically influencing and managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders for the betterment of communities and whanau.Building key relationships and networks while influencing partnering agreements with key agencies and providers in collaboration with the sector.Proven ability to manage risk and change.Ability to relate both verbally and written across all levels of an organization.Remuneration for this role is applied against band MSS05.
The starting salary is from $120,870 to $150,416.
