Our services provide a safe and positive environment where our clients are assisted to achieve maximum independence.Pact is currently looking for a FULL TIME Community Support Worker to work in our Intellectual Disability SIL service in Wellington.The RoleYour role will include supporting clients to participate in meaningful activities in the community, assisting with daily house tasks, and providing support with personal hygiene. You will further assist in gaining and maintaining social, health, education, whanau, and cultural reconnection.Excellent communication and networking skills, as well as the ability to build and sustain working relationships with clients, staff, and external agencies, are essential. Previous professional experience in the intellectual disability field will be advantageous due to the complex high needs of our clients.Your days may vary, but will consist of:Engaging with clientsSetting and achieving individual personal goalsEncouraging client participation in day-to-day lifeSupporting them with activities of daily livingEnsuring support with medication and considering client needsSupporting clients with personal hygieneActivities within the communitySupporting social and whanau connectionsMotivating clients to know they have purposeEnsuring client processes are accurately documentedMost importantly, supporting them to have fun and live fulfilling livesHours of work are at present: 80 Hours Per Fortnight.Pact is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to work alongside people with intellectual disabilities and complex high needs, who will inspire, encourage, be a role model, and possess excellent interpersonal skills and a 'can do' attitude.Minimum RequirementsA full driver's licence and computer skills are essential.If on a work visa, it must be valid for at least twelve months.If shortlisted, you must be available for an interview in Lower Hutt.Please do not apply unless you already have the right to work in New Zealand.
