**Active Support Worker - Upper Hutt**

In this role as a Support Worker, you would be supporting a group of interesting young adults who are involved in their community. They have strong personalities and enjoy a good laugh. They want someone who enjoys socializing, gaming, going out for lunch or dinner, going to events, the pools for a spa, car shows and hanging out as flatties.

The flatmates all have intellectual disabilities and need support to maintain current interests and relationships, and to develop new ones. There will be practical things to handle
- helping them learn to manage their budgets, cook healthy meals and help with the day-to-day normal flatting chores. Just like everyone, they need guidance to manage life's usual challenges
- friendships, love, jobs, health and so much more. The ideal person will be self-motivated, organized, a great communicator and connector, have good energy, and be intuitive. You need to be able to read situations, and know when to step forward and when to step back.

The flatties don't need hands on support for personal care needs, but they do need a lot of support with emotions. They want someone that will support them to keep in contact with their families, and other people who are important to them.

We provide **24-hour support**, which consists of a rotating roster Monday through to Sunday. There will be an expectation of some admin work during this time to support the team, as the days are busy.
