Our role is to provide learning support, advice, advocacy and information to students who have a disability, impairment, injury or medical condition that affects their study.Our vision is to work in partnership to promote an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity, promotes comprehensive academic support, and empowers individuals with impairments to achieve their full potential.Disability Information and Support is a leader in the field of disability support in tertiary education and prides itself on providing expert advice and high-quality learning support that contributes to ensuring students have an outstanding University experience.The role/Te mahiDue to an internal secondment, we are looking for an exceptional Student Advisor to join our close-knit and dynamic team.We are seeking a talented individual to work alongside students to develop learning support plans and facilitate the implementation of appropriate support services in a timely manner.You will liaise with academic and professional staff within the University, and with external support agencies and organisations.Your skills and experience/Ka pukeka me ka wheakoIf you are a confident, empathetic, customer focused individual and you want to be actively involved in supporting and empowering students with impairments to achieve their full potential then this role would be perfect for you.To be successful as a Student Advisor you will have:Experience engaging effectively and positively with diverse communities and in particular with people who have an impairment.Knowledge and awareness of current disability issues and relevant legislation would be advantageous.A qualification and/or relevant experience working in the social service, disability, health or education field.Further details/PurokoThis is a full time (37.5 hours per week), fixed term (February – November 2025) position, located in DunedinThe appointments range for this role is $67,566 - $72,086.
Top of the range is $77,570, per annum, pro rata.You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand to apply for this role.The University is committed to meeting its obligations under the Children Act 2014.
