Exciting opportunity at our iconic Oamaru based Diner & Deli Fun, supportive, and collaborative team Hands on operation with the ability to be creative About the role We are seeking a vibrant and experienced Line Cook to join our Diner and Deli team.
The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen.
Key responsibilities will include: Assist the head chef in the preparation and cooking of meals Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards Assist in inventory management and ordering supplies Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers Requirements: Culinary Qualification 2-3 Years Experience Availability to work within opening hours (e.g., evenings, public holidays, weekends) Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills; be passionate about food, people, and cheese Deliver exceptional customer service and a world-class experience About Us: Whitestone Cheese Co is a producer of award-winning, artisan craft cheeses made in Oamaru and distributed throughout New Zealand.
We are a New Zealand family-owned and operated business that takes pride in rewarding our customers with premium products.
The original factory was set up in 1987.
We have grown a lot since then to become a globally recognized artisan cheese company with over 25 different cheeses and 90 dedicated staff members throughout New Zealand, with the majority in Oamaru.
Our Diner & Deli is the brand experience and spiritual home of Whitestone Cheese, providing a link to the factory with factory tours.
Our Waitaki region's clean water, rich soil, quality pastures, temperate climate, and contented cows all make for premium milk, which creates the natural flavors of our premium cheese.
We are passionate about the quality of our cheese and ensuring it is world-class.
The Whitestone Cheese Diner and Deli provides an experience that represents the local region, delivering a culinary experience that has been produced from the local land, sea, and people, just like our cheese.
