About the Role The Associate Charge Nurse role will assist and work collaboratively with the Charge Nurse Manager in the establishment and promotion of clinical nursing professional standards. This role will also work as part of the Senior Leadership team with the Charge Nurse Manager and Clinical Nurse Specialist.
This role provides clinical leadership, monitors and mitigates risk, actively engages in quality initiatives, and manages the day-to-day functioning of the unit to ensure the delivery of safe patient-focused care. Staff education is also an integral function of this role. This position may involve shift work, including working weekends depending on ward needs but would generally encompass Monday to Friday hours.

About You You will be a Senior Registered Nurse with strong clinical leadership skills and relevant mental health nursing experience, ideally with at least five years of acute mental health experience and hold a current NZ APC. Post Graduate qualifications in Mental Health are highly desirable, or you should be working towards these.
Your proven success in nursing leadership will be complemented by your knowledge of, and experience in, clinical quality, safety, and best practices.
