Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Industrial Electrician to join our team.
The role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in a manufacturing company.
The ideal candidate must have strong problem-solving skills, a solid understanding of electrical regulations, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities: Installation & Maintenance: Install, test, and maintain industrial electrical systems, machinery, and control panels.Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and repair electrical faults, ensuring minimal downtime in operations.Compliance & Safety: Ensure all electrical work complies with New Zealand electrical standards and health & safety regulations.Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to improve system reliability.Wiring & Circuitry: Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.Equipment Calibration: Test and calibrate electrical systems, motors, and automation equipment.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including reports on repairs, inspections, and installations.Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other tradespeople to ensure smooth operations.Requirements:Valid New Zealand Electrical Registration & Practicing License (Registered with the EWRB).Proven experience as an Industrial Electrician, preferably in manufacturing, food processing, or heavy industry.Strong understanding of PLC systems, motor controls, and automation.Ability to troubleshoot and repair high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems.Familiarity with health & safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.Physically fit and able to work in demanding environments.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and SCADA systems.Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.Current First Aid and CPR certification.Benefits:Competitive hourly rate based on experience.Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.Supportive work environment with career progression potential.Company-provided tools, PPE, and uniform.If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, please submit your CV, a cover letter, and highlight your relevant experience and why you are interested in joining the team.
