We also advocate for care-experienced mokopuna aged up to 25 years.Our name, Mana Mokopuna, describes who we are and what we stand for. As the Principal Advisor Maori you will provide expert advice and guidance which contributes to the promotion of the rights, interests, and wellbeing of mokopuna Maori and their whanau, hapu and iwi.Weaving together your knowledge of te ao Maori, and the needs and aspirations of whanau, hapu, and iwi across the motu, you will use your strong analytical skills to provide technical leadership across our advocacy function. You will identify key opportunities to affect positive change for mokopuna Maori and contribute to strategic advocacy planning to realise these opportunities.As a senior kaimahi within the tari, you will lead and contribute to cross-tari initiatives and activities that contribute to improved outcomes for mokopuna, raising awareness of the unique rights of the mokopuna of Aotearoa, affirmed through Te Tiriti o Waitangi and UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.Along with supporting advocacy efforts, you will provide guidance on internal analysis approaches, and support the identification of external research opportunities which promote the wellbeing of mokopuna, with special attention to te ao Maori.You can view and download the full position description below.You may have a background in policy or strategy and be looking for your next career move driven by purpose, or perhaps you are currently working for an iwi, hapu, or community organisation and want the opportunity to contribute to influencing systemic change for mokopuna.You will bring your intellectual leadership and deep commitment to Maori values to your mahi, while understanding and being able to navigate the machinery of government.
