The Physiotherapy team at Christchurch Hospital is looking for an Advanced Professional Physiotherapist, with knowledge and skills in Burns and Plastics, or proven acute hospital experience and the desire to specialise in this area of practice.

You will provide safe and clinically effective patient assessment and intervention with demonstration of advanced knowledge and skills to manage burns and plastic presentations.
You will be part of the wider Musculoskeletal and Paediatric team, working alongside students, rotational and non-rotational staff.
You will be working on the Burns and Plastics and ENT wards and supporting across the acute Orthopaedic Wards as required.
This role will assist in developing the clinical capability of others and will provide clinical and/or professional supervision to staff and students.
You will be involved in quality improvement activities and creating and/or actively implementing evidenced-based practice.

A minimum of 3 years clinical experience working in an acute hospital setting
Demonstrated experience in Burns and Plastics (desirable)
Respiratory, orthopaedic and/or spinal skills are advantageous
Good understanding of the principles of adult education
Experience in teaching/supervision, training and development of staff
An ability to lead and contribute to interdisciplinary service development
Knowledge of quality improvement principles and processes
An ability to work unsupervised
Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
Demonstrated leadership abilities
You will be expected to contribute to the on-call and after-hours roster as part of this role. All after-hours work will qualify for penal rates.
