This role is for an experienced Physiotherapist with a passion for working in a public health setting and close to the patient in the community and Neuro Outpatient space.
We are looking for a person with experience in acquired health conditions, rehabilitation and/or frailty.
We also have an opportunity for vestibular assessment and rehabilitation in our neuro outpatient space.
The work can be tailored to the skillset of the applicant.
As a physio working in our team, you will be working with patients with a range of age-related and long term conditions to reach their goals and maximise their mobility and independence.
This includes equipment solutions, compensatory strategies, falls prevention and education and working alongside your colleagues to enable people to live their best lives.
Our physiotherapists are highly valued within our strong multi-disciplinary team.
You will be well supported by a friendly team of highly skilled and experienced clinicians – with Physiotherapy colleagues as well as the wider multidisciplinary team made up of OTs, Social Workers, Nurses, Dietitians, Speech-language therapists and Geriatricians.
We work in a really collegially and collaborative way together to support patients to live their best lives.
We offer on-going professional development opportunities includinga well established in-service programme, team training, special interest groups and formal supervision.
Cultural professional supervision is available from Maori and Pacific Health teams.
Mo to matou ropu – About our team The ORA Community Services work with people with acquired neurological, long term, or age-related conditions including stroke, dementia, frailty and post trauma conditions.
The teams are multidisciplinary including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech-language therapy, social work, dietetics, liaison nursing and allied health assistants, with close links with Nurse Practitioners, Geriatricians and the Rehab Physician.
There are three community teams geographically located in Wellington, Porirua and Kapiti.
Mou – About you Our successful candidate will be an NZ Registered Physiotherapist with a current APC, drivers licence and have experience in working with acquired health conditions.
You will have excellent communication and time-management skills, enjoy working within a team, and be able to develop positive relationships with a variety of hospital based and primary care professionals.
Vestibular experience will be beneficial, but we can also support upskilling and training for the right applicant.
