About the Role: Spark is looking for a dynamic, seasoned data privacy expert to fill a 12-month parental leave cover, starting February 2025. This role is part of our Digital Trust team within the Legal Centre of Excellence, reporting into the Lead Digital Trust Partner. You'll leverage a deep understanding of Spark's privacy obligations and our Leadership endorsed Privacy Values across a broad spectrum of business initiatives, helping our people, processes, and technologies operate in ways that are ethically and legally sound.

Day to day you will be involved in: Equipping Spark people: Providing frameworks, tools, and training to support Spark people to follow our Privacy Policy and Privacy Values.Facilitating the Spark Privacy Ambassador programme: Supporting Privacy Ambassadors with assessments that carry more nuanced privacy risks, managing ambassador recruitment, and providing ongoing coaching and mentorship.Privacy assessments: Assessing new suppliers and data use-cases for privacy impacts and advising appropriate mitigations and advice that enhances customer journeys and experiences.Complex privacy and Digital Trust issues: Advising on complex privacy issues, including complaints and personal information requests, and developing guidance and templates for Spark teams.Privacy incident management: Investigating privacy incidents and data breaches, assessing applicable privacy obligations.Strategic communication: Crafting privacy communications for customers and external stakeholders.Data analysis and reporting: Producing privacy reports by analyzing data and translating it into visually attractive graphs and summaries.What experience you'll bring: Privacy expertise: Familiarity with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, including the Telecommunications Information Privacy Code and the Credit Reporting Privacy Code.Proven Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, demonstrating your ability to handle complex issues.Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.Stakeholder management: Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders, delivering clear advice and managing challenging conversations when needed.Analytical and pragmatic: Ability to be analytical and thorough, while remaining big picture-focused and pragmatic.Adaptable: Comfortable working with changing environments and priorities.Why Choose Us: Diversity and Inclusion: At Spark, we are constantly looking for ways to build a more inclusive culture.
