Team Leader Transport Planning and SafetyAbout the roleWe are looking for an experienced Team Leader Transport Planning and Safety who has what it takes to succeed in a dynamic and challenging role.
As a member of the Access and Transport team, you will use your technical and management skills to maintain a happy and high-performing team.
As a leader, you will continuously look for ways to optimise your operations.Skills and experience:Demonstrated effective skills and experience managing staffMinimum five years' experience in transport planning, civil engineering, or roadingTraffic management qualifications and/or experience, and willingness and capability to gain traffic management qualificationsEffective communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to write and present technical information in a manner that can be understood by both technical and non-technical peopleDemonstrated knowledge and experience in Waka Kotahi and Council processes and proceduresHolder of a current NZ driver's licence with no restrictionsEffective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated commitment to customer service and willingness to and capability for working with a wide range of people within and outside the organisationDemonstrated ability to build and maintain effective professional working relationships with all key stakeholders, including with other Council staff members, based on a collaborative, collegial, and cooperative working styleEffective time management skills and ability to work effectively without supervision and collaboratively as an effective team memberSound knowledge and experience in Government procurement procedures and rulesSound knowledge and experience in transport project managementTertiary qualification in either transport planning, civil engineering, transport safety, or roading is preferable.Applications close at 12pm on Tuesday, 1 April 2025
