Intensive Care Specialists New Zealand's ICU teams have opportunities for intensivists, physicians with an interest in critical care medicine, dual trained specialist intensivists, or anaesthetists or emergency medical specialists with an interest in critical care medicine. We provide good career advancement and variety, allowing you to work with exposure to a wide range of cases from neuro and cardio postoperative surgery to paediatrics and trauma. Training and development – we provide financial support for courses, exams and college fees. The non-pay work conditions are good - rosters must meet MECA / SECA requirements, scrubs and meals provided, paid education time guaranteed. Variety of care - most units provide critical care to a diverse group of patients - from paediatrics to neuro, cardiac, trauma, renal, respiratory, general medicine, haematology and surgery. Aeromedical retrieval - a unique feature in New Zealand ICUs, adding another dimension and skill set to your career. About you We welcome enthusiastic and committed ICU physicians from varied backgrounds. To be considered for this role: You will need to have, or be eligible to be awarded, vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council in intensive care medicine and/or your other specialty. You will have eligibility for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You will need to be a New Zealand or Australian citizen or resident or have an appropriate visa to be eligible to live and work in New Zealand. Dual trained anaesthetist - intensivist. Hold the FCICM qualification or international equivalent – beneficial but not necessarily required.
