Waga Energy is committed to a mission of driving a sustainable energy transition by making RNG accessible to all.Guided by the values of Audacity, Mastery, and Cooperation, Waga Energy employees in Europe, North America, and other locations are united by a common purpose: maintaining a livable planet for future generations.About the Position - Responsibilities & DutiesThe Warehouse & Materials Manager will serve as a member of a collaborative supply chain team and will be responsible for designing and implementing efficient warehouse operations as well as all materials management, shipping, receiving, and logistics activities in support of projects across the US.
In addition to these primary responsibilities, the Warehouse & Materials Manager will also be responsible for the future building and leading of a team to support ongoing warehouse operations.As a multinational company, Waga Energy's supply chain team consists of staff members currently located in France, Canada, and the US.
As such, the Warehouse & Materials Manager will perform all activities in close coordination with these team members on an ongoing, regular basis.Associated responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Warehouse Setup & ImplementationLeading all activities associated with the planning and execution of Waga Energy's first US warehouse.Planning, developing, and implementing warehouse policies & procedures to ensure effective, efficient, scalable warehouse operations.Ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to warehousing, shipping, receiving and logistics.Maintaining a continuous focus on safety and coordinating with the internal QHSE team to ensure all warehouse activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.Warehouse Operations & Inventory ManagementPerforming all day-to-day warehouse functions, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping, effectively and efficiently controlling the incoming & outgoing movement of all Waga Energy US inventory (materials, equipment, and assets).Implementing and maintaining an accurate inventory tracking system to support project and operational needs.Optimizing warehouse space, processes, and workflows to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.Managing the material life cycle for purchased goods.Developing and implementing plans for the disposition of excess inventory and finished goods.Supporting the development and maintenance of a material and/or service standardization program.Managing plant/project location physical inventory and warehouse physical inventory and the associated counting cycles/processes.Disseminating information and developing and implementing training related to warehouse policies, procedures and best practices.Building close relationships and maintaining ongoing close collaboration with Waga Energy's project delivery and operations & maintenance teams regarding project forecasting, scheduling, and operations & maintenance planning to define and continuously update material and supply needs.Working closely with all applicable internal teams across Waga Energy's cross-functional, multinational organization using requirements planning to align warehouse activities with organizational strategy and business needs.Continuously assessing and improving warehouse processes, leveraging industry best practices and lean methodologies.Developing and monitoring metrics/key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure warehouse efficiency and effectiveness and developing and implementing corrective actions as needed.Logistics Management & Supplier CoordinationManaging inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring timely and cost-effective material flow.Collaborating with suppliers, vendors, and freight carriers to streamline shipping and receiving processes.Team Leadership & DevelopmentRecruiting, training, and managing a team of warehouse staff to support ongoing operations.Providing leadership, mentorship, and performance management to ensure a high-performing team.Fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence within the warehouse environment.Creating and managing a department succession plan, allocating work assignments in such a way as to provide career development and growth opportunities.About You - Qualifications & SkillsThe ideal candidate is a self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented professional with expertise in warehouse setup, materials management, and logistics, with a strong ability to design and optimize processes for efficiency and scalability.
Additional qualifications include:A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a closely related field.
Advanced experience will be considered in place of formal education.A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar warehouse and materials management role.
Experience in establishing a new warehouse facility is preferred.Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively build and maintain relationships in a cross-functional, multinational environment are critically important for success in this role.Expertise in the areas of:Warehousing, logistics, and supply chain best practices.International logistics (import/export operations, freight and carrier management, etc.
), trade compliance, and customs regulations.The use of ERP/MRP systems to efficiently manage inventory and logistics.Safety and regulatory compliance in a warehouse environment.Leadership and team management experience.A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.Experience with SAGE, Oracle and/or SAP ERP systems is a plus.Experience in the energy, chemical, or utilities industry is a plus.French language skills are a plus.CultureFaced with the urgent need to act to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the employees of Waga Energy have committed themselves to take meaningful action to contribute to sustainable energy transition and the construction of a more environmentally friendly society.
