Using a range of services and techniques, they work with external agencies and the prisoners' Whanau to support prisoners as they rehabilitate.
With a natural style to work collaboratively and top notch relationship management skills you will be someone who recognises the importance of the work Ara Poutama does and as we enter into a new and exciting era with Hokai Rangi, bring new ways of thinking to what is already a complex, dynamic and fast paced environment.
This role is based at Tongariro prison, Turangi.
About you | Mou We are looking for candidates with: * Knowledge and experience working with Maori and Pacific Peoples and their whanau and communities.
* Rehabilitation and reintegration related disciplines and practices.
* Effective relationship management and communication skills.
* The ability to motivate and support prisoners to make positive changes.
* Experience and knowledge in Maori Language and cultural protocols and processes within Maori Communities, and of Maori Community structures and dynamics.
* You will also need Full New Zealand Driver's Licence and a legal right to work in New Zealand without restriction for a minimum of 24 months Central to the role will be the ability to exercise sound professional judgement to ensure that prisoner needs, and services are appropriately identified and aligned to prisoner needs.
You must work with high integrity and will demonstrate the Departmental values within your work: Wairua, Whanau, Manaaki, Kaitiaki and Rangatira.

Utu a-tau | Salary The salary for this position starts at $68,456 per annum.
Once in the role we have 5 step competency framework where you are able to increase your salary over time up to $88,648 per annum.
