Job Description The Head Gardener is responsible for the maintenance and development of all gardens, lawns, and landscaping within our community, in accordance with an existing framework and schedule. We run natural, non-toxic systems in our villages providing the best outcomes for our residents.

You will be leading a team of two full-time gardeners. We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, and experienced gardener looking for their next big property to manage.
The ideal candidate will have Level 4 Horticulture, an eye for design, extensive knowledge of plants and their habits, an interest in organics and sustainability, and confidence to manage and develop a small team.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm

Minimum of 2 years in a similar role or 5 years of horticultural experience
Strong understanding of habitats, plants, and growth patterns
Demonstrated competence in a similar role and ability to mange a small team
Highly motivated, flexible, and able to take initiative
NZ Drivers Licensefor Village Vehicles including a manual small truck
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
Committed to safe work practices
The ability to focus attention on our resident's needs while remaining calm and courteous
