This is a permanent, full-time role and is critical in delivering compliance activities in relation to the delivery of NPHS strategic agenda for Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) with compliance activities related to Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990 and the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.Working with various key stakeholders, you will monitor targeted, and evidence based regional compliance activity. You will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining nationally consistent and effective systems/processes for regional delivery and reporting of compliance activity including development of national standards of practice.This role is based in MidCentral / Whanganui.About the Team/Service/ LocationThe National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.About youYou are a subject matter expert relevant to this role. You're able to demonstrate self-awareness of your impact on people and invest in your own leadership practice to continuously grow and improve. You bring with you previous experience that will help you lead confidently in this role. You are someone with strong problem solving and analytical skills combined with an ability to quickly assimilate new information.Skills and ExperienceA relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification desiredRelevant experience in a regulator/compliance sector, specific to the job and work demandsSubject matter expertise in regulatory approaches and/or Smokefree and Regulated Products and Sale and Supply of Alcohol legislation.Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with other Agencies and Public Health teamsExperience in an advisory role, applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide advice.Full, New Zealand Drivers' licenceCompetency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthExperience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings desiredWorking for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
