New Zealand Export Credit (NZEC) is an operational unit within the Financing, Infrastructure and Urban Development directorate within Treasury.
As New Zealand's official export credit agency, NZEC's role is to help exporters grow, manage risk and access trade finance to deliver export opportunities.
NZEC does this by providing financial services and guarantees complementary to the private sector.
We have a rare opportunity for an ambitious Senior Business Originator to help build market awareness of NZEC's products and benefits, as well as identifying opportunities for NZEC to support exporters.
Daily tasks will also involve:
Building market awareness of NZEC's products and benefitsOriginating and structuring deals that support NZ exporter growth and NZEC's revenue targetsDeveloping strong stakeholder relationships at senior levels across exporters, banks, government, and international agenciesRegular attendance of industry events to help raise NZEC's profileThis role will also involve strategic input into NZEC's product and portfolio development.
We are seeking a well-rounded candidate with the following skills and experience:
Extensive client-facing experience (at least 5 years in a similar position), preferably with experience within a bank or trade credit insurer, or a relevant international business background;Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to gain understanding through listening, and to communicate technical concepts clearly and succinctly;Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders at senior levels;Deal execution skills - someone who can quickly grasp the commercial aspects of the transaction and identify workable solutions to support the funding and/or risk mitigation of exporters;Strong credit, analytical, and financial skills (including the ability to interpret financial statements);Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, often under strict deadline pressures;Existing relationships with or a demonstrable interest in engaging with Maori businesses;Demonstrated high levels of integrity, sound judgment, and an honest and ethical approach;Interest in ensuring NZEC's marketing materials, case studies, social media, and website are up to date and relevant; andThe ability to meet the criteria required to hold an appropriate security clearance.Ko nga hua | What we Offer The opportunity to work in a supportive and high-performing team and internal opportunities across the organisation;An environment where excellence is recognised, and staff are encouraged to develop their own talents and potential;A workplace that values diversity and inclusion and recognises the value of your lived experiences;Flexible work arrangements (including working from home) and encouragement to enjoy a positive work/life balance;A range of health and wellbeing initiatives; and5 weeks annual leave for permanent full-time employees (pro-rated for part-time employees).Please see the Job Description for further detail or for more information and a korero please contact Peter Rowe, Head of Export Credit via ******
