You will design and develop rugged and reliable electronics for advanced agricultural equipment, robotic systems, and mobility solutions. These products will operate in harsh environments, demanding robust, high-performance designs that ensure reliability, durability, and adherence to strict safety standards.As part of the engineering team, you will play a critical role throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and prototyping to field testing and mass production. You will be directly involved in refining electronic hardware for seamless integration with robotic and autonomous systems, ensuring efficient performance and reliability for demanding farming applications, as well as meeting the highest levels of safety and compliance required for mobility equipment.Key Responsibilities:Lead the development and optimization of electronic systems for rugged agricultural equipment, advanced robotics, and mobility equipment, ensuring reliability and durability under harsh environmental conditions.Develop, prototype, and validate electronics hardware, focusing on power systems, sensor integration, motor control, and communication interfaces.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, mechanical, and robotics engineers, to ensure seamless integration of electronics with broader system architectures.Apply advanced testing methodologies to validate the reliability and robustness of electronic systems, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, environmental stress testing (temperature, humidity, shock, vibration), and fault injection.Ensure compliance with safety standards, reliability requirements, and regulatory frameworks, particularly for critical systems like mobility equipment.Perform extensive field testing and work closely with the testing team to ensure the equipment performs seamlessly in real-world conditions, incorporating robotics and automation.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the performance and durability of electronic systems in challenging environments.Experience and skills considered essential for this role*:Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.6+ years of experience in electronics hardware design, particularly for rugged or safety-critical applications in industries such as agriculture, automotive, robotics, or mobility equipment.Strong expertise in analog and digital circuit design, including signal integrity design and testing, proficiency in schematic capture, and PCB layout for high-power, high-reliability systems.Strong expertise with hardware design tools (e.g., Altium, Eagle-Fusion) and simulation tools (e.g. MATLAB).Extensive experience in power electronics design, including DC-DC converters (buck, boost, flyback) with a focus on efficiency, thermal management, and reliability. Expertise in component selection and tuning for stable operation in high-power systems under varying conditions.Strong understanding of embedded system hardware with interfaces such as I2C, SPI, CAN, UART, and Ethernet for communication between sensors, actuators, and control systems.Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, automated test systems, and hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, logic analyzers, etc.) to validate hardware performance.Experience with environmental stress testing, including temperature cycling, humidity, shock, and vibration testing to ensure reliability in harsh conditions.Expertise in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) mitigation techniques to meet industry standards.Strong troubleshooting skills, with experience in root cause analysis, failure analysis, and reliability engineering (e.g., FMEA).Experience in autonomous systems or robotic platforms for agricultural or industrial applications, with a focus on sensor fusion and motor control.Familiarity with wireless communication systems (e.g., LoRa, Zigbee, Bluetooth) for remote monitoring and control of agricultural machinery.Expertise in low-power design for battery-operated systems in mobile and remote applications.Experience in power electronics for brushless DC motors (BLDC), including the design of motor drivers, Field-Oriented Control (FOC), PID tuning, and commutation methods for optimal performance and efficiency in rugged environments.Proven ability to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory certifications (e.g., RCM, FCC, CE marking).In return Metalform offer our employees the followingCareer development.
