Northland Kindergarten Association is seeking a passionate, community-focused kaiako to join the teaching team at Hillcrest Kindergarten, Kaikohe.
This 20-hour per week position will have varying daily hours, beginning March 3rd, 2025.Hillcrest has a large natural environment, inspired by the kaupapa of Enviroschools and sustainable practices.
Hillcrest's teaching philosophy includes respectful relationships with tamariki, whanau, and the wider community, embracing whanaungatanga, kotahitanga, and manaakitanga.
Kaiako acknowledge tamariki as unique individuals that are capable, competent, and active participants in their own play-based learning, while ensuring their mana and mauri are upheld.
NKA welcomes new graduates.Hillcrest Kindergarten operates as an All-Year Model.
NKA offers excellent professional development budgets and staff have the opportunity to apply for annual scholarships and wellness initiatives.
NKA welcomes third-year students and runs an excellent mentoring programme for PCTs.Hillcrest has 3.5 teachers, a part-time administrator, and a cook.
This kindergarten operates five 6-hour sessions Monday to Friday, catering for 30 children between two and six years of age.Hillcrest Kindergarten is part of a network of 25 kindergartens within the NKA.
The kindergarten is supported by a professional practice and management team.
