About the Role Reporting to the Operations Manager – Commercial Vehicles, the Production Manager will ensure that both internal and external customer requirements are met.
This leadership role demands a combination of strong people management and technical knowledge to consistently deliver high-quality vehicles on time and to specification.
Leading a dynamic and growing team of 25 — including Auto Electricians, Coach Builders, and members of the Logistics Team — you will oversee diverse production processes and projects, playing a pivotal role in the business.
Key Responsibilities Leadership: Inspire, motivate, and develop the commercial vehicles team to achieve success through effective leadership.Process Improvement: Implement systems and procedures to maximise operational efficiency, ensuring all aspects of manufacturing, repairs, design, and assets are fully utilised with continuous productivity improvements.Planning & Organisation: Collaborate with the Operations Manager to effectively plan production schedules and resource allocation, driving team alignment to achieve shared goals.Quality Assurance: Ensure all vehicle builds meet Wade Group's high standards, as well as customer requirements and relevant compliance regulations.Team Development: Train and develop the skills and capabilities of the commercial vehicles team to foster growth and excellence.Skills and Experience A National Certificate in Coachbuilding (or similar qualification preferred) with a strong focus on health and safety compliance.A Continuous Improvement mindset is essential, with Kaizen or similar certifications being highly desirable.Proven ability to analyse and interpret project specifications, technical drawings, and other information in a fast-paced and evolving environment.Comprehensive understanding of technical drawings and complex projects.Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities, with a track record of successfully leading teams in manufacturing or similar industries in New Zealand or internationally.What We Offer In return for your leadership and dedication, Wade Group offers:
