Position: Senior Network Engineer
Datacom Location: Auckland
Our Why Datacom works with organisations and communities across Australia and New Zealand to make a difference in people's lives and help them to use the power of tech to innovate and grow.
About the Role (Your Why) Welcome to the team Our continual expansion in the industry means that our Networks team is developing at a fast pace, opening the door to work with the latest network technologies and delivering the best breed of solutions. Network Operations is a fast-paced environment, hustling and bustling with highly autonomous, collaborative, and nurturing team members. Teamwork makes the dream work, and communication is key Our team has the confidence to develop and maintain strong working relationships with the wider team and with managing/engaging their stakeholders. We are a very diverse team that works as one unit where everyone brings something to the table and is looked after by their peers.
The work is hands-on and involves various operational teams, project managers, developers, and BAs. It also provides continuous learning experiences that encourage growth and development. The role itself will be situated within our Network Operations Centre where you will get to work alongside a dedicated network services group. We provide a challenging and sophisticated environment using a range of technologies to achieve our goals with a strong focus on Cisco solutions including firewalls, routing & switching, UCS, wireless, voice, and security.
Our offices are based in Auckland. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best
Note that it is a full-time position with rostered on-call and only open to those who have NZ working rights. What You'll Bring As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be an enthusiastic team player who understands what needs to be done to turn business requests into solutions. You won't be afraid to roll up your sleeves and be involved in sorting out the problem, not just the design. We need people who can talk about business – be it small, medium, or large – it's all relevant and can build networks across our greater Datacom team so that you have a wealth of knowledge available for your local customer.
To join our team, you'll have good troubleshooting knowledge and ideally have:
Proven experience as a Network Engineer (3-4 years)CCNA and CCNP full certification or equivalentHands-on implementation with vendors such as: Aruba, Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Check Point, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and F5.We're looking for smart people who get things done. If you are agile-minded, passionate about technology, and thrive in a modern trust-based environment, then Datacom is the place for you
Why Join Us Here at Datacom? Datacom is one of Australia and New Zealand's largest suppliers of Information Technology professional services. We have managed to maintain a dynamic, agile, small business feel that is often diluted in larger organisations of our size. It's our people that give Datacom its unique culture and energy that you can feel from the moment you meet with us.
We care about our people and provide a range of perks such as social events, chill-out spaces, remote working, flexi-hours, and professional development courses to name a few. You'll have the opportunity to learn, develop your career, connect, and bring your true self to work. You will be recognised and valued for your contributions and be able to do your work in a collegial, flat-structured environment.
We operate at the forefront of technology to help Australia and New Zealand's largest enterprise organisations explore possibilities and solve their greatest challenges, so you will never run out of interesting new challenges and opportunities.
We want Datacom to be an inclusive and welcoming workplace for everyone and take pride in the steps we have taken and continue to take to make our environment fun and friendly, and our people feel supported.
