Reporting to the Team Leader Electricians, our focus is to ensure the network meets our customers' needs on a day-to-day basis by utilising all the sustainable technology available in order to do this.Description:The RoleBased in Te Kuiti, this is a full-time, permanent role, working 40 hours a week Monday to Friday with an hourly rate ranging from $46 per/hour - $53 per/hour dependent on experience.
There are opportunities to earn additional income through overtime, allowances and the compulsory participation in the 24-hour callout roster, which is one week in every four weeks, therefore you need to live on the network.Your main duties will include but are not limited to:Complete proactive and corrective maintenance as scheduled in work plansInterpret technical drawings and specifications when requiredWiring and servicing of HV network equipment, mainly in Substations, and IED's (Intelligent Electronic Devices)Testing, programming, reporting and fault diagnostics of HV and substation equipmentSecondary wiring of batteries, chargers and protective relaysTesting of reclosers, HV circuit breakers, power transformers, RMU's, voltage regulators and protective relaysGood understanding of protective schemes used in the electricity distribution industryConstruct new electrical reticulation in accordance with regulations, standards and policiesCarry out setup of SCADA and communication systems using IEC protocols, such as DNP3 and MODBUSSkills and Experiences:To succeed in this role, you must have:Full EWRB registration and current practicing license or EWRB limited practicing license or a letter from EWRB stating that you are eligible to apply for a EWRB limited practicing licenseFull Class 1 driver's license3 or more years' experience working in the HV industryProven technical experience in HV zone substations, SCADA, protection relay configuration and testingAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and carry out As-Builts on drawingsPrevious experience working with SEL relays and automatic voltage regulators including SEL RTACS and gateways (desirable but not essential)Sound knowledge of Excel, Word and CADWe are looking for a person who has:A "can-do" attitude, is prepared to go above and beyond to get the job doneSolid problem-solving skills and a positive attitudePuts safety first in all aspects of their workComfort working by themselvesThe ability to lift weights up to 20KgWhat we offer:Job stability, a substantial benefit package including, but not limited to medical insurance, paid community and volunteer days, access to discounted fuel, commitment to your training, development and career progression.The opportunity to work for a values driven and community focused local employer of choice.Opportunities like this don't come around very often, so if you've been thinking about taking the next step in your career and want to be part of a high performing organisation which provides essential services to our community then we look forward to hearing from you.Fine PrintSafety and wellbeing are integral to every aspect of our business including our recruitment process.
