We provide impartial, evidence-based advice to the Government on mitigating and adapting to climate change. We also monitor progress towards emissions reduction and adaptation goals and report on this publicly.Join the Commission as we expand our efforts from primarily mitigation to a comprehensive approach that includes adaptation, the national climate risk assessment, and monitoring the country's progress on climate action. We uphold the treaty partnership by ensuring our work reflects Maori views and Te Tiriti o Waitangi The Treaty of Waitangi.The General Manager, Evidence and Advice is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team who works closely and collaboratively with other leaders across the Commission.The General Manager has ownership for building the evidence base, expertise, analytical tools, and technical engagement that are a core part of the Commission's statutory deliverables under the CCRA, and anticipates future work for the Commission.Pioneer evidence innovation: Lead the creation and enhancement of the Commission's evidence base and analytical tools, including developing new evidence products that not only underpin our statutory deliverables but also have a standalone impact when released publicly.Engage stakeholders insightfully: Build and maintain strong, meaningful relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring the rigorous collection, testing, and validation of evidence that enhances our credibility and influence.Champion collaborative leadership: Work closely with the Executive Leadership Team and support the Chief Executive in delivering the CCRA work programme, ensuring seamless integration across teams and maintaining a high-performance relationship with the Board.A foundation of trusted evidence is essential for achieving a sustainable, low-emissions and climate resilient future.
