This Fellowship offers a unique opportunity to develop advanced skills while contributing to patient care, research, and education in one of New Zealand - s leading eye services.
The Canterbury Eye Service is known for its friendly, supportive, and collegial environment.
You will have access to cutting-edge technology and be supported to carry out research within the department.
Your salary and benefits will be aligned to the ASMS Senior Medical and Dental Officers Collective Agreement, ensuring recognition of your experience along with a generous continuing medical education budget.
We offer: * A dynamic team of 13 consultants with expertise across vitreoretinal surgery, uveitis, glaucoma, paediatrics, neuro-ophthalmology, oculoplastics, and anterior segment/corneal subspecialties.
* Collaboration with experienced nurses, orthoptists, optometrists, and ophthalmology assistants.
* Service to a population base of 628,600, acting as a tertiary referral centre for vitreoretinal services across the South Island.
* Opportunities to engage in research and present at national and international conferences.
* Regular cataract surgery lists to enhance your surgical experience.
* Responsibilities including the supervision of trainees and contribution to the acute eye service.You must be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
