Nelson is situated on the West Arm of the Kootenay Lake in the heart of the Selkirk Mountains and is home to an eclectic mix of long-time residents and those who are here for the lifestyle.
This vibrant town boasts many well-preserved heritage buildings, amazing restaurants, bustling coffee shops, retail and sidewalk cafes.
Nelson is also famous for its year-round playground for outdoor enthusiasts, such as skiing, hiking, biking, cycling, kayaking, boating and golfing, to name a few.You may be eligible for the position of Police Detective if you:Are currently a serving member of a Canadian Police force;Have had a minimum of five years' police training experience;Have successfully completed the Major Crime Investigative course;Successful completion of the B.C.
Provincial Exemption Exam;Self-motivated and possess strong interpersonal skills;Experience operating under the Major Case Management model;Experience overseeing and directing complex investigations;Ability to effectively communicate and liaise with various community members;Demonstrated ability to work closely with Crown Counsel to achieve positive outcomes;Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with members of our diverse communities;Compensation: A salary of $123,890 with the opportunity for paid overtime.
