This position requires you to be based in Nelson and also be available to travel around our region when required.To be able to apply for this job, you have to meet the following minimum requirements:Proven field experience installing Fire Alarm Systems in NZ under the NZS4512 Performance Standard, or proven experience in other electrical industries.Ability to interpret general construction drawings, electrical specification reports, and manufacturer's manuals.Valid NZ Work Visa and full NZ driver license.Ability to pass a NZ Police Vetting check.Ability to join an on-call roster.Core objectives of the position include:Carrying out reasonable tasks as asked by supervisors.Repairing, installing, replacing, and servicing fire alarm systems.Testing installed systems to company standards, Building Code, and NZS4512 requirements.Responding to fire alarm panel activations to determine the source of the fire.Testing and repairing fire alarm systems.Maintaining records of fire alarm system activity and other fire safety measures.Being on call as per the on-call roster.Identifying and returning faulty material to the office.Taking care of all machinery, tools, and vehicles placed in your care.Filling out timesheets with accuracy.Presenting yourself and the company in the best possible light.Identifying and reporting any variations to the designed work.Implementing and following on-site health and safety procedures.Additional requirements:NZQA Fire Detection and Alarm Systems Level 3 or Level 4 qualified preferably.We are offering you in return:Permanent and full-time position in our company.Further opportunities for professional growth within our company and in the fire protection and building compliance industry.Weekly payments based on hours worked on site.Minimum 40 hours of work per week guaranteed.Time and a half for over 40 hours worked within the week's period.Travel allowance provided when working out of town.Assistance towards NZQA industry qualifications and other professional certifications.Company Benefits:Paid day off on your birthday8 hours paid a month to complete your NZQA qualification assignments.$2,000.00 towards your family relocation*.$500.00 when you complete your NZQA Level 3*.$1,000.00 when you complete your NZQA Level 4*.Extra $1.00/hr wage increase upon completion of NZQA qualifications.
