About the role Our community loves to swim, and we work with children of preschool and school age across a range of weekday afternoons and weekend morning shifts.
This is an active role where you will contribute to our community through helping children develop essential life skills.
Having a qualification and experience in swim teaching along with a current first aid certificate is desirable; however, fully paid training is available, and we will support successful candidates in gaining a nationally recognised qualification.Enjoy an active role in our modern Aquatic Centre where you will play an important part in providing our community with the skills they need when in and around water.Selwyn Aquatic Centre is seeking to employ motivated, energetic instructors to join our fun and passionate Learn to Swim Team.As a Swim School Instructor, you will be responsible for planning structured and engaging lessons, teaching with encouragement and positive reinforcement, and assessing participants to ensure they are improving their swimming ability and reaching milestones.About you To be successful in this role you will be committed to completing all training required, be comfortable working with preschool and school-aged children, committed to working positively within a team, and value the importance of swim safety.
Excellent problem-solving skills.Availability for a weekday and a weekend day.Love being in the water.The process If you are shortlisted, we will contact you to arrange a trial lesson.
Candidates who successfully complete the trial will be invited to a formal interview.
