It carries out a range of activities including the provision of an extensive and market-leading continuing professional development (CPD) programme throughout New Zealand through its wholly owned subsidiary NZLS CLE Ltd.They are dedicated to delivering high-quality, accessible, and affordable CPD services that meet the evolving needs of the legal community.The opportunityAs the Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in commissioning innovative CPD programmes, driving revenue growth and achieving financial targets for the continuing legal education business of the NZLS.Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will be at the forefront of identifying new opportunities, building relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality educational services for legal professionals.Key Responsibilities:Commission high-quality and topical CPD programmes that meet the needs of the legal profession and are aligned with the NZLS CLE Ltd strategyDevelop and implement a comprehensive business development plan to achieve financial goalsMonitor and analyse market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activities to sustain NZLS CLE Ltd's competitive edgeIdentify new business opportunities, including products, services, and marketsBuild and maintain strong relationships with legal practitioners, judiciary members, law firms, and other key stakeholdersEnsure the diversity and inclusivity of presenters and programme offeringsCollaborate with internal teams to design and execute effective marketing strategiesWhat you will need:Superior business development skills, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in business development, sales, or marketing, preferably in the legal or professional services industryCommercial nous with a proven track record of achieving revenue growth targets and fostering successful business relationshipsStrategic thinker with excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentStrong knowledge of or interest in the lawFamiliarity with the New Zealand legal industry is highly desirableProficiency in sales forecasting and financial analysisHighly motivated with a "can do" attitude and maturityAbility to develop innovative solutions to complex problemsA Bachelor's degree in law, business, marketing, or a related fieldWhat we can offer you:This is a hugely rewarding position that will offer a dynamic, fast-paced environment, a great deal of autonomy and variety, and the opportunity to shape the future of professional development for the legal community.You will be joining the market leaders in the provision of CPD for the legal profession and will work with a long-tenured team of talented and highly capable professionals.In return for your hard work and dedication, you will receive a competitive remuneration package, hybrid working, thorough induction and orientation, and a supportive, collaborative, and high-performing team environment.Applications close: Sunday 26th January 2025Applications to: Nikki Walshaw via mclaren.co.nzPosition description: Available to view at mclaren.co.nz
